Charlie Paws is growing but rather than growing our walk sizes to large groups, we’ll be growing our team - to ensure our Charlie Paws pooches are still given personal attention and care.
We are looking for someone to join Charlie Paws Doggy Care as a dog walker - initially to cover additional bookings/holidays etc but the role will build to become more regular.
Position: Self Employed Dog Walker

We are seeking a passionate Self Employed Dog Walker to join our team. As a Dog Walker with us, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and exercise needs of our clients' beloved pets. This opportunity is ideal for someone wanting additional income, who is not dependent on set income/hours, &/or is a freelancer who can work around dog care bookings. Amongst other things, the right candidate for the position will be friendly, reliable, dedicated, trustworthy, and also have and express a passion for animals. We provide a service whereby the elements of safety, trust, peace of mind and security for the clients are paramount.
If you have a love for animals, enjoy staying active outdoors, and seek supplemental income, then this role is perfect for you.
Requirements:

Willing to have a DBS check
-
A huge heart for dogs
-
Has a driving license and car
-
Has own insurance
-
Has/is willing to get dog first aid training
-
Is happy to walk rain or shine
-
Is familiar with the story of, and onboard with the intention of Charlie Paws
If you are not currently self-employed/insured/dog first aid trained, we can easily help guide you or share recommendations.
Pay: £11.90 - £16.80 per hour
Because of the nature of the job, initially, the work is likely to be sporadic and primarily for ad-hoc cover, but can quickly build to be very busy, and more regular for the right person who is able to be flexible.
Duties:

Prioritise and be familiar with the specific needs and characteristics of the pet in care

Safely & confidently walk dogs of various breeds and sizes

Situational awareness with other people/walkers and animals approaching

Provide fresh water and food as needed during service
-
Monitor dogs for any signs of distress or health issues
-
Maintain cleanliness during walks and dispose of waste properly

Follow specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding their dogs' care
Experience:
-
Prior experience in animal care is preferred
-
Experience with dogs is essential
-
Strong customer service and communication skills to interact effectively
